Stess

Life brings with it many events and situations that disturb our mental and physical equilibrium and lead to the stress response. In other words, stress is an inescapable part of life. A nerve-racking experience can trigger the “fight-or-flight” response, releasing hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol in the body. A small and sudden amount of stress, known as “acute stress,” helps us to stay active and alert in an unexpected situation. When this response becomes pervasive, it turns into “chronic stress” which can wear down the mind and body and lead to many physiological and psychological problems. If you experience chronic stress, therapy can help you develop effective coping skills, learn to set boundaries to protect yourself from unnecessary stress, and connect with yourself and find your true purpose so that you may move through challenges with a sense of ease and vigor.
